Bihar is expected to witness challenging weather conditions over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of both intense heatwave conditions and thunderstorms across different parts of the state. A yellow alert has been issued for 12 districts due to the possibility of heavy rainfall, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph.
Several districts in South Bihar, including Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad, and Arwal, are likely to experience severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures expected to rise between 40°C and 42°C. Meanwhile, residents of North Bihar have been advised to remain cautious as thunderstorms and lightning activity are forecast over the next few days.
The weather in Patna is expected to remain hot and humid. IMD officials have also indicated that the southwest monsoon is progressing steadily and is likely to enter Bihar between June 15 and June 20, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching summer conditions.
