A political controversy has erupted in Bihar over the proposed vacation of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s official residence at 10 Circular Road in Patna. Responding to criticism from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Bihar minister Sanjay Tiger said the matter is purely administrative and should not be politicised. He maintained that government accommodations are allotted and vacated according to established rules and regulations, with no discrimination involved.

The minister advised RJD leaders to move into the residence officially allotted to them and avoid creating unnecessary controversy. He further remarked that political parties should focus on public issues rather than disputes over government property.

The bungalow, considered a significant political landmark in Bihar, has become the centre of a heated confrontation between the ruling alliance and the opposition. While RJD alleges political vendetta behind the move, the state government insists the process is transparent, lawful and being carried out strictly under administrative guidelines.
