Patna district will begin a three-week summer camp programme in 50 government schools from June 1 to June 21, aiming to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy among primary students. The initiative will cover children from Classes 1 to 6 and will be conducted in selected schools across blocks including Phulwari Sharif, Naubatpur and Vikram.

Special classes will be held daily from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., with students grouped according to grade levels. The programme will focus on language development, mathematics, phonics, vocabulary building and comprehension through activity-based learning methods.

Officials said the camps will use teaching materials developed under the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme, making lessons more engaging and interactive. Daily schedules will include games, storytelling, educational activities and discussion sessions designed to improve participation and learning outcomes. Authorities believe the initiative will help students strengthen basic academic skills during the summer vacation period.
