In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a grocery trader in Bihar’s Motihari and seized ₹3.5 crore in cash along with a large quantity of poppy husk. Officials allege the accused was running a drug trafficking network under the guise of a legitimate business. Acting on intelligence inputs, NCB teams conducted extensive surveillance before carrying out coordinated raids at multiple locations, including a grocery shop, warehouse and residence.

During the searches, investigators reportedly recovered cash concealed inside containers and uncovered several sacks of poppy husk. Authorities believe the network may have been active for years and are now examining financial records, bank transactions and possible links to other individuals. The operation is being seen as one of the biggest narcotics crackdowns in the region, with further arrests and wider investigations expected as authorities work to dismantle the alleged trafficking network.
