Patna residents facing frequent LPG cylinder delivery delays are increasingly turning to piped natural gas (PNG), encouraged by a new ₹500 free gas offer from GAIL India. Consumers applying for a new PNG connection before the end of June will receive introductory gas benefits worth ₹500 during their initial usage period.
The initiative comes as several parts of the city continue to experience disruptions in LPG cylinder deliveries, with some households reportedly waiting over a week for refills. Officials said the scheme is aimed at promoting cleaner, safer and uninterrupted cooking fuel for urban households.
Unlike LPG cylinders, PNG is supplied directly to homes through a pipeline network, eliminating repeated bookings and concerns about running out of fuel. GAIL is also expanding its PNG infrastructure across Patna, with demand steadily rising, especially in apartment complexes and densely populated residential areas.
