In one of the biggest actions against illegal sand mining in Patna district, authorities conducted extensive overnight raids across Rani Talab police station limits, seizing large quantities of illegally stored sand from Selgarh, Jeetan Chhapra, and Sharda Chhapra villages. The operation was carried out jointly by Rani Talab Police and the Mining Department under the leadership of DSP-2 (Paliganj) Pankaj Kumar Sharma.
Officials said the crackdown targeted both sand smugglers and landowners allegedly allowing illegal storage on private property. Authorities have directed the Bikram Circle Officer to identify landowners and file FIRs against those found involved.
Addressing the media, DSP Sharma issued a stern warning to sand mafias, stating illegal mining, storage, and transportation without permits would face strict legal consequences. The administration also urged residents to confidentially report suspicious mining activities as surveillance and enforcement operations continue across the region.
