The Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau has intensified its crackdown on corruption, registering 62 FIRs against allegedly corrupt government officials in 2026 so far. According to officials, vigilance teams have successfully trapped 55 public servants while accepting bribes during anti-corruption operations conducted across the state.
Authorities said more than ₹21 lakh in illegal cash has been recovered during these raids. The bureau has increased surveillance and monitoring of complaints received from citizens, aiming to strengthen accountability within government departments. Officials revealed that the vigilance department is currently registering nearly 12 to 13 corruption-related cases every month and expects the number to rise further.
Director General Jitendra Singh Gangwar stated that continuous monitoring is being carried out from trap operations to court proceedings to ensure strict action against offenders. The bureau has also urged citizens to report corruption cases through official complaint channels for prompt action.
