A devastating fire broke out late Monday night in Bhattawadi village under Pipra police station limits in Bihar’s Supaul district, leaving nearly 12 families homeless. According to residents, flames suddenly erupted from one house and spread rapidly due to strong winds and extreme heat, engulfing nearby homes within minutes.

Villagers initially attempted to control the blaze using hand pumps and buckets, but the fire intensified quickly, destroying food grains, clothes, cash and household belongings. Fire brigade teams later reached the spot and, with support from locals, managed to bring the situation under control after prolonged efforts.

Though the exact cause remains unclear, residents suspect an electrical short circuit triggered the incident. The tragedy has left affected families in distress, struggling for shelter and essentials.
