Bihar Launches Electric, Pink Bus Fleet for Secretariat Staff in Patna

In a major push towards sustainable public transport and improved urban mobility, the Bihar government has launched a dedicated electric and pink bus service for Secretariat employees in Patna. Operated by the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC), the initiative includes 25 buses, comprising 15 electric and 10 pink buses, aimed at easing daily commuting for government staff.

Officials said the buses will operate on five designated routes connecting major residential areas, railway stations, and government offices with the Secretariat. The move is expected to reduce traffic congestion, fuel consumption, and dependence on private vehicles, while promoting eco-friendly transportation in the capital.

Senior transport officials flagged off the service, highlighting the government’s focus on modernising public transport infrastructure. The buses will run regularly on working days, offering a safer and more organised commuting option for employees. Authorities have also indicated that routes and fleet size may be expanded based on passenger demand and operational feedback.
