The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21, following the cancellation of the earlier examination amid allegations of a nationwide paper leak. Officials said the revised date was finalised after receiving approval from the Central Government, aiming to restore confidence among lakhs of medical aspirants affected by the controversy.
The original NEET UG 2026 examination was scrapped after reports of suspected question paper leaks surfaced across multiple states, particularly Bihar, triggering widespread outrage and demands for accountability. Investigating agencies subsequently launched probes into alleged malpractice networks, leading to several arrests in districts including Nalanda, where authorities uncovered suspected links to organised “solver gangs.”
The cancellation had disrupted the plans of thousands of students preparing for medical admissions. The NTA is expected to release detailed guidelines, admit card schedules, and examination-related instructions in the coming days.
