Consumers across India are facing another rise in fuel expenses after oil marketing companies increased petrol and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre. In Patna, petrol prices climbed from ₹105.47 to ₹108.47 per litre, while diesel rose from ₹91.49 to ₹93.49. In Delhi, petrol now costs ₹97.77 per litre, up from ₹94.77, while diesel has increased to ₹90.67 from ₹87.67. Industry experts attribute the hike to a sharp surge in global crude oil prices, largely driven by escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, which have disrupted market stability. Crude oil prices reportedly crossed the $100-per-barrel mark after previously trading near $70. Officials say rising international prices have increased pressure on oil companies, prompting the revision. Analysts warn that fuel costs may rise further if geopolitical tensions continue. Earlier tax cuts had offered temporary relief, but global developments are once again fueling inflation concerns.
