Sand Mafia Runs Over Cop? Massive Police Crackdown Leads to 28 Arrests in Bihar

A major police operation in Bihar’s Nawada district has led to the arrest of 28 accused after an alleged sand mining mafia attacked a police team during a raid against illegal mining activities. The incident took place near the Panchane River in the Nardiganj police station area, where officers had reached following reports of unlawful sand extraction.

According to police, Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar was seriously injured when a tractor driver allegedly attempted to run him over while fleeing the spot. He was rushed for treatment and later referred to Patna for advanced medical care. Officials confirmed his condition is currently stable and under medical supervision.

During the crackdown, police seized 20 motorcycles, two SUVs and a tractor allegedly linked to the illegal operation. Authorities said the arrested individuals confessed during questioning. Special teams, formed under the supervision of senior officials, are continuing raids to arrest absconding suspects involved in the attack and mining network.
