A severe train ticket shortage has hit Bihar’s Siwan Junction as summer vacations and the wedding season drive an unprecedented surge in passenger demand. Families travelling for holidays, weddings, and visits to relatives are struggling to secure confirmed reservations, with waiting lists on several major long-distance trains crossing 150.

Popular routes connecting Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and other key cities are witnessing massive overcrowding. Railway authorities expect the pressure to continue through mid-July and are considering additional coaches and special trains to ease congestion during one of the busiest travel periods.
