NEET 2026 Shockwave: Exam Cancelled After Bihar Solver Gang Bust Exposes ₹60 Lakh MBBS Scam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination following allegations of large-scale irregularities and the exposure of a Bihar-based solver gang allegedly involved in securing medical seats through proxy candidates. The decision came after investigators uncovered an alleged network charging between ₹50 lakh and ₹60 lakh to facilitate MBBS admissions by deploying “solvers” to appear for candidates in the entrance exam.

Police investigations reportedly led to multiple arrests across Bihar, including suspects linked to organising proxy candidates and coordinating payments. Raids were conducted in several districts as authorities expanded the probe into the alleged examination fraud.

The NTA stated that the exam’s integrity had been compromised following inputs from investigating agencies and fresh evidence of malpractice. Around 23 lakh candidates had appeared for the medical entrance test. The agency confirmed that previous registrations will remain valid and a revised examination schedule will be announced soon.
