A wave of shock spread across Bihar’s Bhojpur district after the body of Sanjit Kumar alias Tantan (40), a former committee member and husband of the current deputy block chief, was found under mysterious circumstances on Monday morning. The body was recovered from an agricultural field near Chawariya village under the Narayanpur police station area, a day after he reportedly went missing.
According to family members, Sanjit had left home on Sunday afternoon but failed to return by night, prompting a search. His motorcycle was later found abandoned near the spot, while his mobile phone was recovered from his pocket. Relatives alleged foul play, claiming foam near his mouth suggested he may have been poisoned or forcibly administered something harmful.
Senior police officers and forensic experts rushed to the scene to collect evidence. The incident sparked protests, with villagers blocking the Ara-Sasaram road, demanding swift action and a transparent investigation into the suspicious death.
