A tragic road accident in Bihar’s Bhojpur district claimed the life of an eight-year-old schoolgirl after a speeding Scorpio vehicle allegedly ran her over near Barhara village under the Charpokhari police station area on Monday afternoon. The victim, identified as Sudha Kumari, was a Class 5 student at a local government school and the eldest child of her family.
According to family members, Sudha was returning home for lunch after attending school when the accident occurred while she was crossing the Ara-Sasaram State Highway. Locals immediately rushed to help and shifted her to the Charpokhari Community Health Centre. Due to her critical condition, doctors referred her to Ara Sadar Hospital, but she died on the way.
The Scorpio driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene after the crash. The incident has left the family devastated, with police launching an investigation and search operation to trace the absconding driver.
