The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially commenced the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026, one of India’s largest entrance examinations for undergraduate admissions. The computer-based test (CBT) began on Monday and will continue until May 31 in 35 shifts across multiple examination centres in India and abroad.
According to NTA, a total of 15,68,866 students have registered for the examination this year. The test is being conducted not only across India but also in 14 international cities spanning 13 countries, including Dubai, Sharjah, Riyadh, Singapore, and Washington DC. Students were allowed to select up to five subjects, resulting in more than 67.56 lakh test instances.
NTA stated that nearly 43% of registrations came from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi. English emerged as the most preferred subject, followed by Chemistry and Physics. Revised admit cards have been issued for candidates whose exam centres were changed.
