Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Patna on Thursday to attend the much-anticipated Bihar cabinet expansion ceremony led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. His visit turned the event into a massive political show of strength for the NDA alliance ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Huge crowds gathered across the city as Modi travelled from the airport to Gandhi Maidan in a grand roadshow marked by party flags, slogans and heavy public participation. BJP and NDA workers lined major roads to welcome the prime minister, while security forces maintained a high alert across Patna.
The cabinet expansion saw more than 30 ministers take oath, with representation distributed among BJP, JD(U), LJP(RV), HAM and other alliance partners. Political observers noted that the NDA focused strongly on caste equations, women’s representation and regional balance while finalising the cabinet lineup.
Traffic restrictions and extensive security arrangements remained in place throughout the day as thousands attended the ceremony.
