Patna remained on high alert on Wednesday as elaborate security and traffic arrangements were enforced for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega roadshow and the Bihar cabinet expansion ceremony led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Several major roads across the city were sealed, causing significant disruption to normal movement and daily life. Key stretches from Sheikhpura Mor to the airport, Harding Road, Income Tax roundabout, Dak Bungalow crossing and R Block were placed under strict traffic control due to heavy VVIP movement and security deployment. Authorities converted several areas into no-entry zones and advised commuters to use alternative routes, especially those travelling to the airport and Patna Junction. Gandhi Maidan, the venue for the swearing-in ceremony, was turned into a high-security zone with separate entry gates for VIPs, ministers and the public. Temporary parking facilities were arranged at Marine Drive, Digha, Kangan Ghat, Patna College and Science College to manage the expected crowd and traffic pressure.
