Youth Alleges Custodial Assault by Police Officer in Siwan, Probe Sought

A 21-year-old man from Siwan district has alleged custodial assault by the officer-in-charge of Goriakothi police station, triggering public outrage and calls for accountability. The complainant, Gulam Gaus Ansari, claimed he was summoned to the police station over a minor dispute that had already been amicably resolved at the village level.

According to his written complaint to the Superintendent of Police, he was allegedly beaten with sticks, verbally abused, and detained for nearly two hours.
