A 21-year-old man from Siwan district has alleged custodial assault by the officer-in-charge of Goriakothi police station, triggering public outrage and calls for accountability. The complainant, Gulam Gaus Ansari, claimed he was summoned to the police station over a minor dispute that had already been amicably resolved at the village level.

According to his written complaint to the Superintendent of Police, he was allegedly beaten with sticks, verbally abused, and detained for nearly two hours. He further alleged that his mobile phone was seized and he was threatened with serious consequences. Medical records from a local health centre reportedly confirm signs of physical assault.

The victim has also urged authorities to review CCTV footage from the police station, which he claims captured the incident. The case has raised serious concerns over alleged police excesses, with residents demanding a fair and transparent investigation into the matter.
