Bihar’s Special Task Force (STF) has significantly intensified its crackdown on organised crime, signalling a strong zero-tolerance approach in 2026. In the first four months alone, the state recorded 12 police encounters, resulting in the deaths of four notorious criminals and the arrest of nine others after being injured in gunfire. Among those neutralised was Ramdhani Yadav, accused in the Sultanpur Nagar Parishad shooting case.
The STF’s operations have gone beyond encounters, with a total of 730 criminals arrested, including 38 high-value targets. Several arrests were made across state borders, highlighting coordinated efforts to dismantle wider criminal networks. Notable offenders with long criminal records have also been apprehended.
Officials say the aggressive strategy is aimed at restoring public confidence and sending a clear message that crime will not go unpunished. The intensified action marks a decisive shift toward stricter law enforcement in Bihar.
