In a major relief for educators, the Bihar government has released ₹1,050 crore to clear pending salaries for April and May under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). The funds will benefit teachers working across Panchayati Raj institutions, urban local bodies, as well as headmasters and district cadre staff in upgraded middle schools.
Officials confirmed that the allocation is part of a previously sanctioned ₹1,054 crore package, with ₹1,050 crore now disbursed. A district-wise breakup has been issued to ensure smooth and timely payments at the local level. Authorities stated that the calculation is based on estimated monthly salary requirements in line with Bihar Education Project Council provisions.
The disbursement process is expected to begin shortly, bringing long-awaited financial relief to thousands of teachers. The move is also seen as a step toward strengthening the state’s education system by ensuring timely salary payments and boosting morale among teaching staff.
