During the trust vote debate in the Bihar Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary strongly defended the state’s prohibition law, asserting that it will continue to be enforced strictly. He rejected opposition claims that the policy has failed, arguing that arrests and convictions of violators demonstrate its effectiveness.

Chaudhary described the liquor ban, introduced during former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s tenure, as a significant step toward social reform that cannot be diluted. He emphasized that the government remains firm and clear on its stance.

Taking aim at Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, Chaudhary accused the opposition of inconsistency, noting that critics were not aligned with the policy when it was implemented but are now questioning it. He also highlighted the NDA’s political stability and cooperative leadership, reaffirming the alliance’s commitment to governance continuity and social welfare initiatives.
