In a major citizen-centric reform, the Bihar Cabinet has approved doorstep property registration for citizens aged 80 and above, eliminating the need to visit offices. Mobile Registration Units will visit homes to conduct biometric verification and complete documentation, ensuring a seamless and transparent process. Online payment of registration fees will remain mandatory to maintain digital efficiency.
The cabinet also cleared several measures to strengthen law and order, including deployment of “Police Didi” personnel, procurement of 1,500 scooters for women’s safety, and 3,200 motorcycles to boost police mobility. Additionally, a ₹172-crore modern facility will be built in Patna for Dial-112 emergency services and a police data centre.
Further approvals include fire safety upgrades with hydraulic platforms, development of a forensic science university campus in Bihar, and initiatives to enhance tourism, disaster assistance, and public grievance systems like the “Sahyog” helpline.
