Activists from various left parties, under the banner of the All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha, staged a protest at the Sasaram Collectorate on Wednesday, highlighting alleged neglect of Mahadalit settlements. Led by prominent leader Ashok Baitha, the protesters first marched through the town before gathering at the Collectorate, where they were stopped by district authorities at the main gate.
The demonstrators accused elected representatives of diverting MP and MLA funds primarily toward urban areas, leaving rural Mahadalit localities deprived of basic amenities such as clean drinking water, infrastructure, and essential services. They demanded equitable allocation of public funds and immediate intervention to improve living conditions in these marginalized communities.
Despite scorching heat, protesters continued their demonstration for hours, raising slogans and pressing for accountability. The protest coincided with a district monitoring committee meeting, drawing attention to governance issues and the need for inclusive development across both urban and rural regions.
