The Bihar government has suspended five revenue officials in Bhojpur district for participating in a strike that disrupted routine administrative work. The action was taken on the orders of District Magistrate Tanay Sultania following directives from the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.
Officials stated that the employees violated service conduct rules by going on strike and ignoring instructions from senior authorities, leading to delays in public services. The suspended staff were posted across various circle offices, including Tarari, Bihiya, Charpokhari, Udwantnagar, and Sadar Ara.
Authorities said the move is part of a broader “zero-tolerance” approach toward disruptions in essential government functions. The strike, called by employee unions, has affected land-related services across several districts.
The suspension has also intensified the political debate, with the government defending its action as necessary for maintaining discipline, while employee groups continue to demand resolution of their issues.
