Bihar is currently experiencing sharply contrasting weather conditions, with northeastern districts likely to receive rainfall while southern regions face an intensifying heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported temperatures crossing 41°C in several areas, severely impacting daily routines and increasing health risks. Cities such as Patna, Gaya, and Aurangabad are witnessing extreme heat, accompanied by dry winds that are further aggravating conditions.
Meanwhile, districts in the Seemanchal region, including Purnea, Katihar, Araria, and Kishanganj, may receive light rainfall between April 17 and 19. However, this relief is expected to be limited and localized. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for parts of southern and central Bihar, warning of worsening heatwave conditions from April 18 onward. Authorities have advised residents to avoid prolonged sun exposure, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions as extreme weather patterns persist across the state.
