Following the formation of Bihar’s new government, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has taken charge of 29 crucial departments, including home, general administration, urban development, health, agriculture, industries and road construction. The move reflects a centralized approach during the initial phase of governance.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Chaudhary has been assigned 10 departments such as water resources, education, rural development, parliamentary affairs and transport, giving him a significant administrative role. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Vijendra Yadav is overseeing eight portfolios, including energy, finance, planning and development, social welfare and commercial taxes.

Officials clarified that the current distribution is temporary and aimed at ensuring smooth administrative functioning. A full cabinet expansion is expected in the coming days, after which additional ministers will be inducted and portfolios redistributed to balance responsibilities and strengthen governance across departments.
