A devastating fire broke out in Ward 2 of Nandana Panchayat under Bihar’s Jadia police station area, leaving eight families homeless and causing widespread panic. Eyewitnesses said the blaze erupted suddenly and spread rapidly due to strong winds, engulfing multiple houses within minutes. Residents rushed to save their lives, but could not rescue their belongings as flames consumed homes.
The fire destroyed essential items including clothes, food grains, jewellery, cash, important documents, and even a motorcycle. Initial estimates suggest losses exceeding Rs 10 lakh. Among the worst affected is Geeta Devi, whose savings for her husband’s cancer treatment were completely lost in the fire.
Fire brigade teams and local administration reached the spot and managed to control the blaze after intense efforts. Officials have provided immediate relief materials and assured further government assistance, while affected families have appealed for urgent compensation.
