Nalanda Police Bust ₹75 Lakh Extortion Racket, Seven Arrested in Swift Operation

Nalanda Police have successfully cracked a high-profile extortion case within just three days, arresting seven members of a gang that demanded ₹75 lakh from a local furniture businessman. The आरोपी had allegedly threatened the victim with violence and even warned of a “demo” attack if their demands were not met, creating panic.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, a special team led by the Rajgir SDPO was formed, which used technical surveillance and intelligence inputs to track down the accused. Raids were conducted across multiple locations, including Bihar Sharif and Manpur, leading to the गिरफ्तारी of the suspects.

Police recovered eight smartphones, a keypad phone, SIM cards, Aadhaar cards, and written evidence linking the gang to the crime. Officials are now probing the criminal history of the accused and possible links to other cases, while the operation has brought significant relief to the business community.
