The Patna district administration has taken a firm stand against arbitrary fee collection by private schools, directing strict enforcement of transparency norms. District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh has ordered that all schools must clearly display detailed fee structures on notice boards and official websites, ensuring parents have access to accurate information.
The move comes in response to a surge in complaints from parents alleging hidden charges under various heads, including admission, tuition and development fees. Authorities have warned that any violation of rules will invite strict action, including penalties and administrative measures.
Officials, including the District Education Officer and Sub-Divisional Officers, have been tasked with conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with government regulations. The administration has emphasized that no school can increase fees without prior approval, aiming to bring accountability, reduce disputes and provide much-needed relief to parents.
