The Bihar government has opened admissions for pilot training at its Aviation Institute, offering 40 seats under the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) programme. The initiative is aimed at promoting aviation careers among local youth and strengthening the state’s presence in the sector. Only permanent residents of Bihar are eligible to apply, in line with the domicile-based policy designed to prioritise local talent.

Applicants must have completed Class 12 with physics and mathematics and be at least 18 years old. Selection will be based on a screening process to ensure training standards. Candidates are required to submit applications online or offline with necessary documents, including domicile and academic certificates.

Officials stated that the programme follows standard aviation training norms, with fees structured per flying hours. The initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities and support skill development, as authorities report growing interest among aspiring pilots across the state.
