The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts across Bihar, forecasting rainfall, lightning, and winds reaching up to 40 km/h until April 9. The sudden weather shift, driven by western disturbances and moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal, has brought temporary relief from intense heat conditions experienced in recent days.
Several districts, including northern and central regions, are likely to witness intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. In some areas, wind speeds could escalate further, accompanied by lightning activity, increasing the risk of localised disruptions.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, avoid open fields during thunderstorms, and take necessary safety precautions. Farmers, in particular, have been urged to secure crops and livestock. While the cooler conditions may ease heat stress, weather instability is expected to persist, with unpredictable patterns likely over the next couple of days.
