A delegation from the Bihar Rail Users Association has urged railway authorities to prioritise the redevelopment of Patna Junction and expand rail lines in the Danapur division to address rising congestion and improve connectivity. During a meeting with the Divisional Commercial Manager, the group submitted detailed proposals highlighting increasing passenger pressure in eastern India’s key rail hub.
The delegation stressed the need for modern infrastructure, including terminal expansion and the development of the Harding Park Terminal, to decongest Patna Junction. It also recommended the doubling of key corridors, particularly the Patna–Ara–Buxar route, to enhance train frequency, punctuality and overall efficiency.
Additional suggestions included introducing new trains, improving existing services and strengthening connectivity to major cities. Railway officials assured the delegation that their concerns would be examined and necessary steps taken to upgrade infrastructure and streamline operations in the region.
