Former Bihar DGP S.K. Singhal Faces Fresh Scrutiny in Fraud and Exam Scam Probe

Former Bihar Director General of Police S.K. Singhal has once again come under the scanner over alleged lapses in judgment and links to a major recruitment examination scam. During his tenure, he was accused of being misled by a fraudster impersonating the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, raising serious concerns about adherence to security protocols.

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the recruitment scam and has issued a questionnaire to Singhal, seeking written responses. Officials indicate that he may be summoned for questioning if his replies are found unsatisfactory.

The controversy has also triggered political debate, with opposition leaders accusing the state government of shielding influential officials. Despite past allegations, Singhal was appointed to a key post after retirement, a move that has further intensified scrutiny over administrative accountability.
