President Murmu to Attend Nalanda University Convocation, Highlighting Global Academic Ties

President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Nalanda for a one-day tour to attend the second convocation ceremony of Nalanda University in Rajgir. The event will see 617 students from 31 countries receive their degrees, giving the ceremony a strong international presence.

During the visit, the President will inaugurate the “Vishwamitralaya Auditorium,” adding to the university’s growing infrastructure. She is also scheduled to visit the historic ruins of the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara, symbolizing India’s rich educational heritage and its revival in modern times.

Several prominent dignitaries, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Governor Syed Ata Hasnain, will attend the ceremony. A special exhibition on Buddhist heritage has also been organized in collaboration with the Bihar Museum, showcasing India’s cultural legacy alongside its global academic outreach.
