Rail connectivity between Bihar and South India is set to receive a major boost with the approval of a new express train linking Raxaul to Tirupati. The Railway Ministry has cleared the introduction of the Raxaul–Tirupati Express as a permanent service, marking a significant step toward improving long-distance travel options for passengers.
The new train is expected to benefit residents of East and West Champaran districts, easing travel for pilgrims and tourists by providing a direct connection to prominent religious destinations in South India. It also aims to strengthen cultural and spiritual ties by linking key pilgrimage centers.
Apart from religious travel, the service is likely to enhance trade and economic activity in Raxaul, a key border town. Officials believe the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to expand rail infrastructure and improve passenger convenience across regions.
