The Patna Municipal Corporation has intensified its property tax collection drive as the March 31 deadline for the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme approaches. The civic body has urged residents to clear their pending dues within the stipulated time to avoid penalties and additional charges.
Officials said the city has over 3 lakh registered properties in its tax database, with the highest numbers in the Patliputra and Kankarbagh zones. To facilitate taxpayers, the corporation has extended operating hours at tax collection counters from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., including holidays, allowing residents more time to complete payments.
In addition to on-ground collection efforts, special enforcement teams have been deployed to recover dues from defaulters. Authorities have warned that strict action, including property attachment and bank account freezing, may be taken against those who fail to clear dues.
The corporation has also promoted digital payment options through its website, UPI platforms and a WhatsApp chatbot to make tax payments faster and more convenient for citizens.
