The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Patna successfully organised Fit India Carnival 2026 to promote sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle among citizens. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes, sports associations, fitness enthusiasts and the general public. Bihar Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh attended the programme as the chief guest and was welcomed by SAI Patna centre head Someshwar Rao Chavan.
Several distinguished guests including IAS officer M. Ramachandrudu, Bihar Olympic Association president Ajay Kumar and Rakesh Acharya from Haridwar were also present. Addressing the gathering, Shreyasi Singh urged people to adopt regular physical activities in their daily lives, describing Fit India as a nationwide movement for building a healthy and strong society.
The programme began with a lively Zumba session followed by the formal inauguration with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Athletes presented impressive demonstrations in taekwondo, wushu and yoga. Stalls and demo sessions featuring mallakhamb, gymnastics, skating, basketball and other sports highlighted the importance of fitness and encouraged greater public participation in sports.
