Tensions flared in Patna’s Naya Tola area on Saturday after residents protested outside a gas agency that was found closed when customers arrived to collect LPG cylinders. The incident occurred under the Pirbahore police station limits, where a large number of customers had gathered at the Indian Om Sai Gas Agency.
Angered by the unexpected closure, residents blocked the busy Bari Path road for a brief period, disrupting traffic in the area. Police teams from Pirbahore and Kadamkuan police stations reached the spot soon after receiving information and managed to pacify the protesters, restoring traffic movement.
According to the agency manager, Sonu Kumar, LPG supply remains normal across the country. He said the sudden rush was caused by panic among customers who were attempting to stock extra cylinders. When some customers allegedly began pressuring staff to provide cylinders immediately, the agency temporarily shut operations to avoid any untoward incident. Services resumed after police intervention and the KYC and delivery process restarted.
