Muzaffarpur Plans New Industrial Hub in Paru

The Muzaffarpur district administration has initiated plans to develop Paru as a new industrial hub to strengthen the district’s industrial base and boost economic activity. District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen has submitted a proposal to the Bihar government seeking preliminary approval for acquiring nearly 700 acres of land for the project.

Officials said the proposed industrial zone will have direct connectivity to the under-construction Patna–Bettiah four-lane highway, improving transportation infrastructure and reducing logistics costs for industries. To ensure smooth access, the administration has also requested the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to develop a connecting road between the industrial area and the highway.

Land for the project has been identified across five villages in the Paru region, including Chandpur Chiutahan, Chaturpatti, Bhojpatri, Harpur Kaparpura, and Vishunpur Saraiya. Authorities believe the industrial hub will attract manufacturing units, warehouses, and logistics companies, creating employment opportunities and boosting economic development in nearby rural areas.
