The weather department has predicted rain and lightning in nearly 20 districts of Bihar, warning residents to stay alert as weather conditions may change rapidly. According to the Meteorological Centre, strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h are also likely in several parts of the state over the next 24 hours.
Cloud cover and light rainfall are expected in multiple districts, including Patna. Authorities have advised people to avoid open areas during lightning and seek safe shelter if severe weather develops.
Meteorologists say the current weather fluctuations are mainly due to an active western disturbance originating near the Mediterranean region and moving across the Himalayan belt. This system brings moisture, clouds, and rainfall to northern and eastern India.
Additionally, a developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal is increasing atmospheric moisture, raising the chances of rainfall. Experts expect the unsettled weather to continue until March 11, after which temperatures may gradually rise from March 12 onward.
