Indian Railways has implemented a major operational upgrade at Patna Junction by introducing a modern access control system designed to improve passenger security and manage crowd movement more efficiently. Under the new system, passengers must scan the QR code printed on their train tickets or platform tickets at automated gates before entering the station premises. The gates will open only after successful scanning.
In addition to the access control system, authorities have installed advanced X-ray baggage scanners at entry points to ensure thorough security checks of passengers’ luggage. Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have been deployed to supervise the system and maintain safety.
The entire station complex is now under round-the-clock surveillance through an extensive network of CCTV cameras connected to a central control room. Officials believe these measures will prevent unauthorized entry, reduce theft and improve crowd management, giving passengers a safer and more organised travel experience.
