Bihar Government Dismisses Revenue Officer Over Fake Certificates

The Bihar government has dismissed former Supaul Circle Officer Prince Raj after an investigation revealed he obtained his job using forged educational certificates and false identity details. The action was taken following approval from the state cabinet, with the Revenue and Land Reforms Department issuing the termination order. Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Vijay Sinha said the state maintains a zero-tolerance policy against fraud in government recruitment and warned that strict action would continue against those using fake documents.

Investigations found that Raj allegedly submitted a forged 2006 secondary examination certificate during selection through the Bihar Public Service Commission. Officials later discovered records showing he had passed matriculation earlier under a different name and birth date. The Bihar School Examination Board cancelled the disputed certificate, leading to disciplinary proceedings. Authorities are now preparing to recover salaries paid during his service and have intensified verification of officers’ credentials to prevent similar fraud cases.
