An attempted robbery at a State Bank of India ATM in Bihar’s Rohtas district was foiled after quick coordination between the bank’s monitoring team and local police. According to officials, the ATM, located in the Karakat police station area, is linked to a real-time surveillance system managed from Mumbai. When suspects allegedly began cutting the machine using tools, the alarm system was triggered and authorities were immediately alerted.

Police teams rushed to the location, forcing the robbers to flee before they could steal any cash. During their escape, the accused reportedly left behind slippers, tools and a gas cylinder believed to be used for breaking the machine. Local residents said they heard gunshots as police approached, though no injuries were reported. A forensic team has examined the scene and collected evidence. Police have launched a search operation to identify and arrest the suspects, while officials credited technology-driven monitoring for preventing a major theft.
