A tragic incident unfolded in Bihar’s Patna district after a Class 10 student allegedly died by suicide when she was denied entry to her matriculation examination for arriving late. The incident occurred near Maharajchak village between Taregna station and Chhotki Masaurhi halt on the Patna–Gaya rail section. The deceased, identified as Komal Kumari from Kharjawan village, had reportedly reached her examination centre late due to a traffic jam and was not permitted to appear under strict guidelines.
According to family members, she was deeply distressed after missing the exam. Later, she left home and was critically injured after coming in contact with a passing train. She was declared dead at a local hospital. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
The matriculation examination, conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board, began Tuesday across 1,699 centres statewide, with over 1.5 million candidates appearing.
