Bomb Threat Email Triggers Evacuation at Buxar Civil Court

Brief By Newsbrief / 4:09 PM on 13 Feb 2026

Panic gripped the Buxar civil court on Wednesday after an email threatened 14 bomb blasts at 1:15 pm, prompting authorities to suspend judicial work and evacuate the entire परिसर. Judges, lawyers, staff and litigants were moved to safety as a precaution.

Senior officials, including the SDM, Sadar SDPO and SP, rushed to the spot with a heavy police presence. Bomb disposal and dog squads, along with technical teams, carried out a thorough, inch-by-inch search of the complex. No explosive material has been found so far, officials said.

The district lawyers’ association coordinated the evacuation but raised concerns over inadequate security, citing previous violent incidents within the court premises. Advocates demanded stronger, technology-backed security arrangements at entry points.

Police have secured the area and begun tracing the origin of the threatening email. Authorities said strict action will follow once the sender is identified. The incident has renewed focus on the safety of judicial institutions amid recurring threats.
