The Munger district administration has intensified efforts to fast-track the Munger–Mokama greenfield four-lane highway project, a key infrastructure initiative under the National Highways Authority of India. During a high-level review meeting, District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra directed officials to complete all pending land surveys within two days, warning that delays would invite strict action.
Officials presented updates on land acquisition and survey work across several zones of the district. While progress has been reported in Pipariya and Chanan, the administration expressed concern over slower work in Suryagarha and parts of Barhiya and Lakhisarai. Revenue and land records officials were instructed to immediately update documentation, prepare the khatiyan register, and ensure full transparency in the acquisition process.
The district administration emphasized close coordination among departments to prevent bottlenecks and minimize inconvenience to local residents. Once completed, the four-lane highway is expected to significantly improve connectivity, reduce travel time between key regions, and support economic growth and investment across Munger and adjoining districts.
