The long-running divorce dispute between Tej Pratap Yadav and Aishwarya Rai is set to return to the spotlight, with the Patna Family Court scheduling a fresh hearing on February 24. The court will make a third attempt at mediation under the supervision of Principal Judge Sunil Dutt Pandey, urging both sides to explore the possibility of reconciliation.
The high-profile case has travelled from the Family Court to the Patna High Court and back, after the High Court dismissed Aishwarya’s review petition and declined further intervention. The High Court had earlier directed the Family Court to dispose of the matter within six months, citing the need for speedy resolution under the Hindu Marriage Act.
Previous mediation efforts, including meetings at the Patna Zoo and a city hotel attended by Lalu Prasad Yadav, failed to yield results. Tej Pratap is seeking divorce, while Aishwarya continues to oppose it. The case also involves allegations of domestic violence and claims of extramarital relationships, which could influence the legal outcome if substantiated.
