A massive fire broke out after two LPG cylinders exploded successively during cooking at a residential house in Dharharwa village, Ward No. 12, under Sahebganj police station area of Muzaffarpur district on Tuesday evening. According to sources, the fire started in the kitchen when a gas cylinder suddenly caught fire. Homeowner Mukesh Pandit attempted to control the flames but was severely injured after sustaining burn wounds.
The situation worsened when two cylinders exploded one after the other, shaking the entire house and causing the fire to spread rapidly across the building. Within minutes, furniture, clothes, important documents, and household items were reduced to ashes, resulting in losses worth several lakhs of rupees. Panic gripped the neighbourhood as thick smoke and flames engulfed the area.
Fire brigade teams from Sahebganj and Paroo rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after strenuous efforts, preventing further damage to nearby houses. Mukesh Pandit is currently undergoing treatment, while authorities have urged residents to strictly follow LPG safety measures.
